An accident that resulted in the death of five people in Amurskaya oblast is a subject to control of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia

The investigating authorities of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Amurskaya oblast are investigating a criminal case against a 41-year-old citizen suspected of committing a crime prescribed in paragraph "a" part 6, Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (road traffic offense and violation of traffic safety rules that entailed death of two and more people through negligence committed by a person in a state of intoxication).

According to the investigation, on August 28, the suspect, driving a Mitsubishi Fuso truck, was moving along the Federal highway in the direction of Chita-Khabarovsk to the Khabarovsk city. While driving on the territory of the Shimanovsky raion, the driver of the truck drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Toyota Funcargo car, where there were six people. As a result of the collision, the driver of the car and four passengers, including two children aged 6 and 11, died on the spot. A medical examination revealed the presence of a narcotic substance in the blood of a truck driver. Currently, the suspect has been detained, and the investigation intends to petition the court for imposing a pre-trial restrain as custody on him.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Belyansky S.Yu., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Amurskaya oblast to submit a report on the investigation. The investigation of the criminal case is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate the Department.
