Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia holds a brief meeting in St. Petersburg on issues of importance

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, held a brief meeting in St. Petersburg. It was attended by Mr. V.V. Loboda, acting Rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Ms. E.Yu. Garanina, Principal of the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps, Ms. M.D. Krasnopeeva, Head of the Cultural Center of the Russian Investigative Committee, as well as representatives of construction Companies.

During the meeting, the issue of construction and reconstruction of two buildings of the St. Petersburg Academy and the Cultural Center of the Russian Investigative Committee was discussed. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin personally inspected the mentioned buildings and listened to reports on the progress in fulfilling the instructions given at previous meetings, a report on the stages of work being carried out, as well as upcoming works and their scope. The representative of the construction Company reported that at present the dismantling work is at the final stage, the team is starting to restore the foundation and ceilings.

The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of design and reconstruction of buildings. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin once again reminded of the need to preserve the historical appearance of buildings, instructing them to carefully and responsibly treat the performance of work, taking into account all standards and requirements. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia emphasized: "It is very important to recreate as much as possible what was here before, therefore, special attention must be paid to restoration work, returning the building and interior decoration to its historical appearance."

Also, during a working trip, the Head of the Department heard a report from his subordinates on the progress of the investigation of criminal cases on the facts of issuing permits for construction work at cultural heritage sites of St. Petersburg. The head of the investigative group of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported on the investigative actions carried out to date and the planned events. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia gave a number of specific instructions aimed at a comprehensive and high-quality investigation of criminal cases.
