Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed the Main Investigative Directorate to launch a criminal case for the death of the Russian Embassy employees in Kabul.

On September 5, 2022, an explosive device was detonated near the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. According to preliminary data, the attack killed the second secretary and the security man of the Embassy.

The Head of the Investigative Committee instructed to investigate the incident and identify all the persons involved in the crime. All investigative actions will be carried out in cooperation with the Russian Foreign Ministry and law enforcement agencies of Afghanistan.
