The Head of the Russian Investigative Committee takes part in an interdepartmental meeting held by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation


Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Head of the Russian Investigative Committee, took part in an interdepartmental videoconference meeting held by Mr.Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by Federal Ministers, Heads of Services and Departments.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia made a report, voicing data on the investigative progress of the Investigative Committee of Russia for criminal cases related to crimes against the peace and security of mankind committed by representatives of the Ukrainian armed groups and the evidence collected by the investigation. According to the mentioned facts, more than 1.5 thousand criminal cases were luanched and 270 persons have been identified as involved in the commission of these crimes, so far. Over the entire period of the investigation, more than 200 thousand people were interrogated, more than 100 thousand people were recognized as victims. To date, the investigation has detected, that more than 10,000 civilian infrastructure facilities have been destroyed and partially damaged as a result of the actions of the Kyiv regime; this includes also the damage of residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and vehicles. Currently, the work of investigators and experts continues, aimed at assessing the damage caused and the cost of restoring residential buildings and other civilian objects.

The Head of the department also spoke in favor of the idea of ​​creating an international tribunal to investigate the crimes of mentioned above type, noting that the work of such judicial body would demonstrate to the world community the inevitability of punishment for crimes against the peace and security of mankind, the determination of Russia and the true partners of our country in eradicating Nazism, nationalism and xenophobia.
