The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee instructы the Main Investigative Directorate of the Department to organize an inspection in connection with the decision of the Republic of Estonia to destroy the monument to Soviet soldiers in Raadi Park in Tartu

In Tartu's Raadi Park, the dismantling of the monument to Soviet soldiers started. In the near future, archaeologists will begin to extract the remains of people buried near the monument.

Earlier, the Estonian government announced the start of a campaign to dismantle Soviet military monuments and reburial the remains of soldiers throughout the republic. Presumably, there are between 200 to 400 memorials and commemorative signs on the territory of the country.

Such actions are directed against the interests of Russia in the field of preserving the historical memory of the USSR activities during the Second World War and the decisive role in the victory over fascism.

The Head of the Investigative Committee instructed the investigators to organize an investigation into this fact, as well as to request the necessary information from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
