Criminal investigation is finalized in a case of a murder of family in Omsk oblast

The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Omsk oblast finalized the investigation of the criminal case on the murder of a 35-year-old woman, her 10-year-old disabled daughter and a 38-year-old cohabitant in the Yuryevka settlement, Pavlogradsky raion, Omsk oblast. A 14-year-old daughter of the murdered woman and an 18-year-old boy-friend of the daughter are accused of a crime in accordance with paragraphs. "a", "c", "e", "g" Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the murder of two or more persons, including a juvenile, committed with extreme brutality by a group of persons in collusion).

According to the investigation, the 14-year-old girl persuaded her boyfriend, who was 17 years old at the time, to murder her mother and stepfather, who were against their relationship resulting in hostility between the members of the family. The offenders developed an action plan and defined the roles of each. In order to commit the murder, the boy borrowed a bayonet-knife from his friend. Around 2 a.m. on January 22, 2022, the offender snuck into the house from the backyard through the door, opened by the 14-years old girl. A young man fatally stabbed the sleeping adults and a 10-year-old girl who was suffering from a musculoskeletal disease and to which her older sister did not want to provide care. After the murder, the 14-year-old took her 6-year-old brother and knocked on the door of the neighbors in order to hide the crime, saying that a stranger had broken into the house and killed her parents. She provided the police with the deliberately false information about the appearance of the imaginary criminal and helped the police to compile an identikit of him.

At first, law enforcement officers initiated a search for the unknown man with a beard, conducting house-to-house visits, interviews of the local residents and other investigative activities. On the instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, officers of the Main Forensic Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia joined the Omsk investigators. The most experienced investigators and forensic experts, using special techniques, examined the scene of the crime and, after analyzing the evidence obtained, the testimony and behavior of the girl, they put her veracity in doubt. The actions taken to verify her original testimony convinced them that the girl was hiding the circumstances of the murder of her relatives known to her. She was also hiding the person who committed it. Methodological assistance in the preparation and tactics of repeated interrogations of the schoolgirl and her friend was provided by the forensic specialists and psychologists of the Main Forensic Directorate. The teenagers confessed to their crime. The 17-year-old schoolboy, repenting of his deed, described in detail what had happened, confirming his testimony at the crime scene and surrended the murder weapon - the knife, which he threw in the snow along the road and the hidden blood-stained clothes he was wearing at the time of the crime. Physical evidence was confiscated by the investigators. The defendant girl pleaded partial guilt.

Initiated by the investigation, the defendants were imposed pre-trial restraint as custody. Forensic psychological and psychiatric examination recognized the teenagers as sane. During the investigation, vast investigative actions were carried out, including forensic, biological and forensic medical examinations, the conclusions of which fully confirmed the involvement of the accused in the cruel crime.

Based on the results of the investigation, the the police authorities submitted a presentation to address and prevent the causes and conditions that contributed to the committed crime, namely lack of control over the deviant behavior of the accused, who had been under supervision of the juvenile affairs inspectorate. Based on the results of the representation, responsible officials were brought to disciplinary liability.

At present, the familiarization of the accused and their lawyers with the materials of the investigation has been finalized. In the future, the criminal case will be submitted for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits.
