Residents of Yaroslavl oblast are found guilty of illicit manufacturing and trafficking of dangerous alcohol-containing products

The evidence collected by the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Yaroslavl oblast was recognized by the court as sufficient for sentencing three members of an organized criminal group.

They were found guilty of manufacture, storage and sale of products that do not meet safety requirements, committed by an organized group (paragraph "a", Part 2, Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), illict production and (or) trafficking of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products, committed by an organized group on an especially large scale (paragraphs "a, b" Part 2, Article 171.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), in the use of deliberately counterfeit excise stamps or Federal special stamps for labeling alcoholic products, committed by an organized group (paragraph "b" Part 6, Article 327.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The investigation and the court established that on the territory of Pereslavsky raion of Yaroslavl oblast, the lines for bottling counterfeit alcohol was organized and operated. The products were manufactured under the guise of well-known domestic and foreign brands. The warehouses designed to store manufactured products were also found.

The activity of the criminal group, which included the accused, was carried out until November 28, 2020, with the involvement of more than 20 migrants from the countries of Central Asia who did not have permits for labor activity on the territory of the Russian Federation. Manufactured products were sold on the territory of Yaroslavl oblast and in other regions of the country. According to the examined files, the products produced by the accomplices contained methyl, iso-amyl alcohols, and during the investigation it was confirmed that they were dangerous to the health of citizens.

Illegal activity was detected and suppressed by the FSB of Russia in Yaroslavl oblast, with the support of the National Guard.

Within the investigative and search activities, more than half a million bottles of finished products, 200 thousand pieces of packaging, 40 pallets with barrels of alcohol, 15 cubic meters each, fittings and counterfeit federal special brands were canfiscated. In total, products and equipment worth more than 500 million rubles were seized.

By a verdict, the accused were sentenced from 2 years 6 months to 4 years 2 months in prison with serving a sentence in general regime penal colonies.
