The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Primorsky Krai launched a criminal case against a 16-year-old teenager. He is suspected of committing a crime prescribed in Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (infringement on life of a law enforcement officer).

According to investigators, on September 14, 2022, the suspect attacked a Senior district police officer and sprayed pepper gas in his direction, and then tried to strike the officer with an object that looked like a knife. He did not respond to demands to stop illegal actions. During the arrest, the suspect attemped to resist, in connection with which another police officer fired a warning shot in his direction.

Currently, the teenager is in a medical facility with a hip wound, the issue of imposing pre-trial restraint against him is being decided.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed Mr. E.S. Kasyannikov, acting Head of the Investigation Directorate to report on the progress of the criminal investigation, and its progress is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Department.
