The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia expresses his condolences in connection with the death of the Prosecutor General of the LPR and its deputy

Mr. Aleksandr Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, expressed his condolences on the deaths of Mr. Sergei Sergeevich Gorenko, Prosecutor General of the Lugansk People's Republic, and Ms. Ekaterina Nikolaevna Steglenko, his deputy.

"As a result of a terrorist act organized by Ukrainian gangs, the Prosecutor General of the Lugansk People's Republic, Mr. Sergei Sergeevich Gorenko, and his deputy, Ms. Ekaterina Nikolaevna Steglenko, were killed. This is a heavy loss for us, for all those who have not reconciled to the criminal Kiev's regime and continue to fight against its nationalist manifestations. Mr. Sergei Sergeevich and Mrs. Ekaterina Nikolaevna were our comrades. They were distinguished by integrity, honesty and a clear life position in matters of protecting the interests of the residents of Donbas, who have been subjected to bullying and terror by the Ukrainian authorities over 8 years. Mr. Sergei Sergeevich and Mrs. Ekaterina Nikolaevna were literally at the forefront, but always performed their duties on a high-professional level.

I assure you that, in spite of everything, our interaction with the Prosecutor General's Office of the LPR will continue in a constructive manner. We will provide all possible assistance to investigate this heinous crime. I have already instructed the investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee to launch a criminal case and investigate all the circumstances of the crime.

I express my deep, sincere condolences to the relatives, friends and colleagues of Mr. Sergey Sergeevich and Mrs. Ekaterina Nikolaevna ... "
