Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed to launch a criminal case on the beatingout of a Russian citizen by Officers of the State Border Protection Service of Lithuania.

A video appeared in the public space, which depicts the rude actions of Lithuanian border guards against a Russian citizen. According to the Russian Embassy in Lithuania, on September 20, 2022, a man was brought in a car of the Lithuanian border agency to the border with the Republic of Belarus. Then he was abruptly taken out of the car, beaten and left lying on the roadway.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to detect all the circumstances of what had happened. The investigators were instructed to request all the necessary information from the Russian Foreign Ministry. The criminal investigation is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
