Criminal investigation over the shooting at the Izhevsk school was transferred to the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee

On the instruction of Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the criminal case on shooting occured on the territory of an educational institution in the city of Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic, was transferred for investigation to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee.

The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Udmurt Republic launched a criminal case on the mentioned above facts on the offense of crimes prescribed in paragraphs. "a", "c", "f" Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the murder of two or more persons, including a juvenile or another person, knowingly for the criminal, that a victim is in a helpless situation, committed in a generally dangerous way), part 1, Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, transfer, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of firearms, their main parts and ammunition). According to preliminary data, nine people became victims of the crime, including two security guards of the educational institution and two teachers, as well as five juveniles, some were injured. Information on the dead and wounded is being specified. The attacker committed suicide. He was wearing a black T-shirt with Nazi symbols and a balaclava. There were no identification documents with him, his identity is currently being specified.

On the instruction of the Head of the Department, forensic specialists and experts of the Main Directorate of Forensic Directorate (Forensic Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia have now left for the scene of crime to fix and document the traces of the crime.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia will detect the circumstances of the crime; the actions of all involved persons will be legally assessed.
