The pre-investigative inspection over the incident with a passenger catamaran in Primorye is a subject to control of the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed Mr. Aleksandrov A.A., Head of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia, to report on the results of the pre-investigation inspection organized by the investigating authorities over the incident with a passenger catamaran in Primorye.

On October 1, 2022, in the Stark Strait near Russky Island in Primorsky Krai, the Moskva passenger boat ran aground; it was heading from Vladivostok to Popov Island. There were 171 passengers and 4 crew members on board. There were no casualties and the ship was not damaged. All passengers have now been evacuated to shore.

The investigating authorities of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia are conducting a pre-investigation inspection on the mentioned fact, detecting all the circumstances and causes of the incident.

The inspection and its results are the subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
