The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia holds a meeting with veterans of the Leningrad Criminal Investigation Department


Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, met with veterans of the Leningrad Criminal Investigation Department in the Cadet Corps of the Boarding School of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Principal of the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Acting Principal of the Cadet Corps of the Boarding School of the Investigative Committee of Russia Ms. Elena Yuryevna Garanina, Head of the Cultural Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia Ms. Maria Dmitrievna Krasnopeeva took part in the event.

The guests of honor of the event were veterans of the criminal investigation units, as well as representatives of the Council of Veterans of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast; Chairman Viktor Egorovich Brylev and Secretary - Yuri Alexandrovich Egorchev were among them too.

Welcoming the audience, Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin noted that the Criminal Investigative Department is one of the fundamental divisions of the Internal Affairs Bodies, whose Officers perform the most important functions in the fight against crimes, sometimes risking their lives. Professionalism and courage, valor and honor, a heightened sense of justice and intransigence towards enemies of public peace and law and order - these are the qualities inherent in Criminal Investigative Officers. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also emphasized: "Serving in the Criminal Investigative Department is a very good step in the profession. For me personally, it was a small but important period in the profession. The Investigative Committee and Officers of the Criminal Search Investigation always work together, solving crimes. I really want to wish you good spirits. We draw strength from you and learn from the experience of those who have retired, and we really need these meetings!".

By decision of Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the invited veterans of the Criminal Investigative Department were awarded departmental medals.

The event continued with a festive concert prepared for the guests of the event by students of the St. Petersburg Academy of the Russian Investigative Committee, the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps and the Cadet Corps of the Boarding School of the Russian Investigative Committee.

At the end of the event, the veterans of the Criminal Investigative Department talked to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, discussing the importance of joint work between the investigative-search and investigative officers, the transfer of experience to young officers and the preservation of the best traditions of the Law Enforcement System.
