The Head of the Russian Investigative Committee instructs to investigate the attack on the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Leipzig

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed the Investigative Officers to detect the circumstances of the attack on the Russian Consulate in Leipzig, Germany.

As reported in the media, an unidentified person threw several bottles of yellow and blue paint at the Consulate General building in Leipzig, as well as on the sidewalk in front of the building. As a result of the crime, damage was caused to the outer wall and the gates of the Consulate General. The incident occurred on October 20, the person who committed the illegal actions has not been identified.

The Head of the Department instructed the Investigators to request the necessary information from the Russian Foreign Ministry and give a legal assessment of all the circumstances of the crime.
