Information appeared in the media that back in the summer of 2022, the Vologda court acquitted two former Employees of the Social Service Directorate of the City Administration, who were charged by the investigation with committing forgery and negligence, depending on the role of each; their actions resulted in the death of Mr. Stepan Kukin. The charges against one of the defendants were partially dropped, and the woman was sentenced to a fine. At the same time, a decision was immediately issued to release her from the imposed punishment in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution.
It is noted that Law Enforcement Agencies are now challenging the decisions of the Vologda Oblast Court and the Vologda City Court.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to report on the circumstances previously established, and which served as the bases of the accusation, as well as on the reasons for the above court decision.
