The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to report on the progress of the criminal investigation against a student who was preparing an attack at a school in Ulyanovsk

The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Ulyanovsk Oblast launched a criminal investigation against a 17-year-old local resident. He is accused of committing crimes prescribed in Part 1, Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public justification of terrorism), Part 1, Article 30 paragraphs. "a", "c", "f" Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation of murder), Part 1, Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illict acquisition and storage of ammunition).

According to Investigators, while studying at Ulyanovsk College, the defendant publicly expressed his approval of terrorist acts. He also expressed a desire to commit mass murder of students at the school where he previously studied. For this purpose, he acquired cartridges, as well as instructions for making a Molotov cocktail and a plan diagram of the school premises. On the motion of the Investigator of the Regional Investigative Directorate, the defendant is imposed a restraint as custody.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Mikhailov S.Yu., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Ulyanovsk Oblast, to report on the set of investigative actions carried out in a criminal case and detect the causes and conditions that contributed to the commission of crimes by a teenager. The investigation is a subject to control of the Main Directorate of the Department.
