The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus Federal Okrug was found sufficient by the court for sentencing Mr. Artur Dzhioev, a member of the criminal community headed by Mr. Aslan Gagiev. Mr. Dzhioev was extradited on 21 February 2018 from the Hellenic Republic. He was found guilty of committing crimes prescribed in Part 1, Art. 209 (leadership of a gang - a structural unit of a criminal community), paragraphs "a", "c", "f", "g", "h" Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), Part 3, Article 30, paragraphs. "a", "f", "g", "h" Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder), paragraph "a" Part 3, Article 126 (kidnapping), Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (infringement on the life of a Law Enforcement Officer).

The Investigation and the Court established that Mr. Artur Dzhioev, being a member of the criminal community under the leadership of Mr. Aslan Gagiev, organized by the latter to commit grave and especially grave crimes on the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Moscow and Moscow Oblast, on behalf of Mr. Gagiev, no later than November 2010, headed a gang that was a structural subdivision of this criminal community. In addition, between December 2004 and February 2014, at the direction of Mr. Aslan Gagiev, Mr. Artur Dzhioev took part in the commission of a number of grave and especially grave crimes: the murder of Mr. Dmitry Plytniki n 2004 in Moscow; the murders of Mr Alexander Slesarev, Ms Natalia Slesareva, Ms Elizaveta Slesareva and Ms Vera Kartashova in 2005 in Moscow Oblast; the murder of Mr Oleg Novoselsky in 2005 in Moscow; the murders of Mr. Artur Bekmurzov in 2007 in Moscow Oblast; the murders of Mr. Lasha Avlokhashvili and Mr. Dato Javakhishvili in 2008 in Moscow Oblast, Mr. Leo Alborov and Mr. Khokh Bibilov in 2010 in Moscow; the kidnapping of Mr. Maxim Nikolaev and his subsequent murder in Moscow Oblast; the attempted murder of Mr. Sergei Beglaryan in 2010 in Moscow and his murder in 2012 in Moscow; the murders of Mr. Givi Slonov and Mr. Timur Ezeev in 2014 in Moscow Oblast; the attempted murder of Mr. Aslan Chelokhsaev in 2006 in the Vladikavkaz city, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania; infringement on the life of Mr. Mark Metsaev (he died), he was the Head of the Organized Crime Control Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The criminal case against Mr. Artur Dzhioev was investigated by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus Federal Okrug.

As previously reported, the criminal investigation against Mr. Aslan Gagiev is now being considered by the Southern District Military Court. To date, 24 members of the criminal community have been sentenced to long terms of imprisonment, including life imprisonment, the criminal case is being considered against 12 members of the criminal community by the 2nd Western District Military Court, 7 criminals have been put on the international wanted list, and 7 have been killed as a result of internal conflicts between 2010 and 2014.

Mr. Dzhioev was sentenced to 19 years of strict regime imprisonment, and taking into account the earlier verdict of the Sovetsky District Court of Vladikavkaz of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, by partial addition, the final sentence of 20 years of strict regime imprisonment with restriction of liberty was imposed for a period of 2 years.
