In social media, residents of the Republic of Latvia published messages and photos of two desecrated monuments to Soviet heroes. So, in the Jelgava region, the letters were stolen from the memorial. They belonged to the phrase “Glory to the heroes” and were printed in both Latvian and Russian language. Meanwhile in Jurmala, 16 memorial plates were stolen from the burial place of Soviet soldiers.

Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee will request the Russian Foreign Ministry for the necessary information related to the mentioned above incidents and detect all the circumstances too. These facts will be appropriately legally assessed.
