The Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructs the Main Investigative Directorate to control a criminal investigation on the death of seven people, including five children, as a result of a fire in Bashkortostan

The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan are investigating a criminal case launched on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 3, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (infliction of death by negligence to two or more persons).

Earlier it was reported that on November 18, 2022, seven people died: two parents and five children, as a result of a fire that occurred in a semi-detached brick residential building in the Matveevka village, the Republic of Bashkortostan. The father of the family managed to save two children. Currently, an inspection of the scene is being carried out, according to the results of which a set of forensic examinations will be appointed, eyewitnesses and other witnesses are being interrogated, all the causes and conditions that contributed to the tragedy are being detected.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed Mr. I.G. Masallimov, Acting Head of the Investigative Directorate for the Republic of Bashkortostan, to report on all the circumstances of the incident and to report on the ongoing investigative actions. The investigation and its results are the subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Department.
