The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to transfer to the Main Directorate a criminal investigation on the collapse of a part of a residential building in the Tymovsky urban type settlement of Sakhalin Oblast

On November 19 of this year, a part of the building of a 5-storey residential building collapsed in the Tymovskoye urban-type settlement, Sakhalin Oblast. At the moment, the bodies of nine dead have been recovered from the rubble, four of which were children. The exact number of victims is being specified. On this fact, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Sakhalin Oblast launched a criminal case on infliction of death by negligence (Part 3, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and damage or destruction of property by negligence (Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In addition, in accordance with instruction given by the Leadership of the Investigative Committee, Forensic Specialists of the Main Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee joined the criminal investigation for practical assistance provision.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Mr. A.I. Bastrykin instructed to transfer the criminal case to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for further full and comprehensive investigation.
