The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Altai Krai launched a criminal investigation on the death of a teenager in accordance with Part 1, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inflicting death by negligence). According to the investigation, on the evening of November 20, 2022, a local resident, driving a car, was moving along the roadway in the Sorokino settlement of the Biysk city. His car was equipped with a tubing attached to the vehicle by a towing cable, where his underage acquaintance was placed. The teenager sustained injuries and he died at the scene because of them before the arrival of the ambulance team.

The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee instructed Mr. I.V. Kolesnichenko, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Altai Krai, to report on the progress of the criminal investigation.

The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia warn citizens about the danger of riding tubing in places not intended for this. During winter activities, it is necessary to ensure the safety of children and adolescents.
