The Head of the Department instructs to report on the interim results of the investigation over a fire broken at a warehouse in Moscow, where people died

Investigators of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are investigating a criminal case on a fire occurred in a warehouse building at the Moscow-Leningradskaya station on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 3, Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).

The Investigation detected that on the afternoon of November 20, 2022, two separate buildings with a total area of ​​2,500 square meters caught fire; they located on Komsomolskaya Square in Moscow; the fire broke as a result of improper storage of goods, violation of fire safety rules and the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, After extinguishing the fire, the bodies of unidentified persons were found at the site of the fire. The number of victims and injured is being specified. A set of investigative actions is being carried out aimed at detecting all the circumstances, causes and conditions of the incident, the necessary forensic examinations have been appointed.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Vyments P.S., Head of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia, to report on the interim results of the criminal investigation and on the circumstances of the incident. The investigation and its results are the subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Department.
