One of the programs on the Federal TV channel discussed the circumstances of the death of a 20-year-old resident from Novosibirsk Oblast, whose body was discovered six months after her disappearance. On this fact, a criminal case was previously launched by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Novosibirsk Oblast. A number of participants in the program criticized the ineffectiveness of the investigation.

In connection with critical statements about the criminal investigation Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed Mr. V.B. Zaripov, Acting Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Novosibirsk Oblast, to re-report on the detected circumstances.

The criminal investigation is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
