The Guilty verdict is adjudicated by jury in criminal case on attempted murder of Mr. Abraham Russo and his bodyguard

The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was recognized by the jury as sufficient for issuing a guilty verdict in the criminal case of the attempted murder on Mr. Abraham Russo and his bodyguard.

Mr. Vitaly Dzhura, Mr. Aleksey Tryasnikov and Mr. Mikhail Demkin were unanimously found guilty of committing this crime.

According to the investigation, Mr. Telman Ismailov, the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market, organized an attempt on the murder of the artist Abraham Russo on the basis of personal hostility. He found accomplices of Mr. Dzhura and Mr. Tryasnikov, as well as the executor of the crime, Mr. Demkin. The latter acquired a machine gun and cartridges for it.

In their turn, Mr. Jura and Mr. Tryasnikov purchased means of communication for the commission of the crime, and they also followed Mr. Russo to establish his route of movement. On August 19, 2006, Mr. Demkin fired shots at the car where Mr. Russo and his security guard were. It happened on Plyushchikha Street, Moscow. Mr Russo received four hip wounds. After the attempt on murder, Mr. Dzhura and Mr. Tryasnikov hid Mr. Demkin, providing him with clothes and money.

Mr. Demkin, who served a long time in prison, died in 2014.

The criminal investigation against Mr. Ismailov, organizer of the crime, and other accomplices continues. Mr. Ismailov is on the International Wanted List.

Based on the guilty verdict of the jurors, a verdict will be passed.
