The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Altai Krai are investigating a criminal case on the fire that killed the local residents; the case is launched in accordance with Part 3, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inflicting death by negligence to two or more persons).

It was detected that on December 1, 2022 in Barnaul, a family of three, including a juvenile, died in their own house as a result of the fire. The investigation establishes the causes of the tragedy.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Kolesnichenko I.V., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Altai Krai, to report on the preliminary results of the criminal investigation.
