On December 4, 2022, at about 4 p.m., snow and ice fell from the roof of a kindergarten on a boy playing near the wall of the building. The kindergarten is located along Gagarin Street in the regional center. As a result, the child received bodily injuries, from which he died on the spot. The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Magadan Oblast launched a criminal case in accordance with Part 2, Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence resulting in the death of a person). The criminal case was attached to the criminal case launched on December 4, 2022 on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 1, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (infliction of death by negligence).

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed Ms. A.V. Prosina, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Magadan Oblast, to submit a report on the investigative progress of criminal case.
