On the air of the Federal Channel, a story was discussed about the way a 4-year-old daughter was taken from a family of guardians from Irkutsk Oblast and handed over to a biological mother who is a citizen of a foreign state. Guardians are trying to defend their right to raise a child, however, the juvenile is at the Consulate General of a foreign state in the Novosibirsk city with her biological mother now. Numerous attempts to return the child through the courts were unsuccessful.
The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Irkutsk Oblast are investigating a criminal case on the improper performance of the duties by Officials of the Interdistrict Departments of the Ministry of Social Development, Protection and Guardianship for Irkutsk Oblast in accordance with Part 1, Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Sitnikov A.V., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the ICR for Irkutsk Oblast, to submit a report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the detected circumstances.
