The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia will be reported on the progress of the criminal investigation on the attempted murder of a newborn in Moscow

Earlier, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a criminal case on the offence of a crime prescribed in Part 3, Article 30, Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder committed by the mother of a newborn).

According to the investigation, on December 10, 2022, a viable newborn girl was found by residents of a house located along Paromnaya Street in Moscow, they immediately turned to Law Enforcement Agencies. The newborn girl was placed in a medical facility and now she is under the supervision of doctors, nothing threatens her life and health. Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the capital, together with Criminal Investigative Directorate Officers, identified and detained a 41-year-old woman suspected of committing a crime. The investigation received information that the suspect had previously been convicted of a crime prescribed in Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. A. A. Strizhov, Head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the ICR for Moscow, to report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the detected circumstances. The investigation is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
