A verdict is adjudicated to the former Head of the Department of the Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Stavropol branch


The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for North Caucasian Federal Okrug in cooperation with the Main Security Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was recognized by the court as sufficient for sentencing Mss.Larisa Ustinova, former Head of the Department of State and Civil Law Disciplines of the Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Stavropol branch. She was found guilty of committing crimes prescribed in Part 3, Article 210 and paragraph "a" Part 5, Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a criminal community in receiving a bribe in the form of money in a significant amount for illegal actions).

The investigation and the court established that Mss. Ustinova acted within an organized group united in a criminal community, together with officials of the Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Stavropol branch and conditionally appointed commanders of training groups; she used her official position, and between September 2017 and July 2020, she systematically received bribes on the territory of Stavropol Krai in the form of money in a significant amount, in the total amount of more than 5 million 700 thousand rubles from students of the faculty of correspondence education, students of retraining and advanced training of Stavropol branch of the Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Illegal remuneration was supposed for guaranteed passing of the current control, obtaining admission to the intermediate, state final certification and their successful delivery, regardless of the knowledge shown by the student during the training period.

A pre-trial cooperation agreement was concluded with Mrs. Ustinova, in connection with which the criminal case against her was separated into a separate proceeding.

By a verdict, Mrs. Ustinova was sentenced to imprisonment for 4 years with restriction of freedom for 1 year, with the deprivation of the right to be engaged in teaching activities in higher and professional educational institutions for 3 years, with the punishment being served in a general regime penal colony.

Other defendants, together with their solicitors, are currently getting familiarized with the files of the criminal case.
