Mr. Bastrykin A.I., Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed Mr. Reshetnikov P.G., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Chelyabinsk Oblast, to submit a prompt report on the progress of the criminal investigation against a woman accused of attempted murder of a child (Part 3, Article 30, paragraph "c", Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as on the negligence of the guardianship authorities (Part 1, Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for the Chebarkul city.

According to investigators, the Accused injured her 11-month-old son by hitting him several times and throwing him to the floor. The child is in serious condition in the intensive care unit of a medical institution. At the motion of the IC Investigator, the court imposed restraint as custody to the Accused.

The Head of the Department instructed the investigators to give a comprehensive legal assessment of all the circumstances of the crime, establishing the causes and conditions that led to the commission of a particularly serious crime against a child, and also, within the investigation, to analyze the completeness of the measures taken by the competent Authorities on previously received statements about the unlawful actions of the accused.

The criminal investigation is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the ICR.
