The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan launched a criminal investigation in accordance Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inflicting grievous bodily harm). The basis for this was the revealed message about the trauma of the child within the social networks monitoring.

The report stated that a 7-month-old boy was taken with a head injury to a medical institution of the Kazan city, while it was suggested that the boy could become a victim of a crime. Currently, the investigation has detected that the child was taken to the hospital from the Kamsko-Ustyinsky raion. His condition is assessed as serious. Investigative actions are being carried out aimed at detecting all the circumstances of the incident and identifying the persons involved in the commission of the crime. The issue of appointing the necessary examinations is being resolved.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Lipsky V.A., Head of the Investigative Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan, to report on the ongoing set of investigative actions, making the criminal investigation and its results a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
