Another criminal case is launched in connection with the shelling of a hospital in Donetsk

The Investigative Committee of Russia has launched another criminal case against servicemen of the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the investigation, on December 19, 2022, the servicemen of this unit purposefully delivered a second strike at the Donetsk Clinical Territorial Medical Association (former Kalinin Hospital), located in Kalininsky raion of Donetsk. The medical facility was already shelled by Ukrainian nationalists on December 18.

Three floors of the hospital building collapsed, one person was seriously injured as a result of the criminal actions committed by the military personnel of the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Once again, the Ukrainian servicemen have demonstrated their cynicism and readiness to commit murders of the civilian population, not disdaining to infringe on socially significant objects of civilian infrastructure. They roughshodly violated the requirements of the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and its Additional Protocol, which bans the use of weapons if this would cause excessive loss of life or injury to civilians.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia documented the damage caused to the building of a medical institution during the inspection of the scene. All patients and hospital staff have been evacuated to ensure their safety. The identification of persons from among the Ukrainian armed formations involved in this and other similar crimes continues.
