On December 30, 2022, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Yevgeny Alexandrovich Rybakov, Deputy Head of the Monitoring and Investigation Division of the Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Joint Grouping of Troops (Forces), died as a result of artillery shelling by the armed formations of Ukraine in Donetsk, the DPR.
Officers of our Department have been investigating war crimes committed by the Kiev regime against civilians and Russian Military Personnel from the very beginning of the Special Military Operation. They work in combat conditions. And these conditions inevitably lead to losses. True professionals in their field, the best Officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia, serve in the Donbas. This is exactly what Evgeny Aleksandrovich was. He was repeatedly awarded Departmental Medals and distinctions for the successes achieved in Official Activities. He performed the official duties during the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region. He was a Combat Veteran and a Veteran of Military Service. He had got a wife and two young children.
A criminal investigation is launched on the death of Mr. E.A. Rybakov. The investigation will detect all the circumstances of the crime, all persons involved in its commission will be prosecuted.
Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, expressed his condolences to the family of Mr. Evgeny Alexandrovich Rybakov. He instructed to provide comprehensive support to his family. Officers of the Department sincerely mourn together with the relatives of the deceased Officer.
