Officers of military investigative agencies took part in the “Star of Memory” event

On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the "Star of Memory" event took place at the Alley of Glory in the city cemetery of Dushanbe in the Republic of Tajikistan. Officers of the 527th Military Investigation Department (for the garrison) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and servicemen of the 201st Gatchina Order of Zhukov Twice Red Banner Military Base participated in the event.

The event was also attended by members of the All-Russian public organization “Combat Brotherhood”, representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan and various public organizations, as well as students of the military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya”.

During the “Star of Memory” event, the participants painted the stars on the monuments red, cleaned up the military graves of Red Army soldiers and commanders who died in the evacuation hospitals of Stalinabad (Dushanbe) in 1941-1945, as well as war and labor veterans.

Additionally, the participants laid flowers at the grave of Lieutenant General Alexander Chudesov, a recipient of three orders: Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, and Bogdan Khmelnytsky. The military leader took part in numerous military operations, including the Donbas offensive operation, and the liberation of the cities of Horlivka, Shakhty, Novoshakhtinsk, Lida, Hrodna, and others.

The patriotic event was dedicated to the 83rd anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, with over 200 people taking part in it.

According to the Council of War and Labor Veterans, more than 300,000 people were drafted from Tajikistan to the front during the Great Patriotic War, with 90,000 having died on the battlefields. Today, 24 front-line veterans still live here, the oldest of whom recently celebrated his 112th birthday.

"Events like this keep the memory alive in our hearts of those terrible times when tragedy came to every home, leaving a trail of pain and sorrow in every family in our country," noted Colonel of Justice Igor Grishan, the head of the 527th Military Investigation Department (for the garrison) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
