The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Samara Region are investigating a criminal case of group hooliganism, opened in connection with an attack by migrants on a State Duma deputy in Samara (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the RF).

Three participants in the attack, including a minor, have been identified and arrested. The investigation intends to petition the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspects.

Taking into account the circumstances and public attention to the incident, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed Acting Head of the Samara Region Investigation Department A.I. Kolbasin to reclassify the actions of the attackers as an attempted murder, and to report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances. The execution of this order has been placed under the control of the central office of the department.
