The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory have initiated a criminal case against a truck driver. He is suspected of violating traffic rules, resulting in the negligent death of five people (Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the RF).

According to preliminary information, on July 30, the driver of a truck with a MAZ trailer, while driving on the Slavyansk-na-Kubani – Krymsk highway, violated traffic rules and collided with a Chevrolet passenger car. The impact pushed the passenger car into the vehicle in front of it, causing it to be crushed between two trucks. As a result of the traffic accident, the driver of the passenger car, as well as a female passenger and her three minor children, who were also in the car, died at the scene before the arrival of medical assistance. The suspect has been arrested.

The head of the department instructed the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory, A.K. Maslov, to report on the progress of the criminal case investigation and the established circumstances.
