The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against the Deputy Commander of the Leningrad Military District

The Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has launched a criminal case against Major General Valery Muminjanov, Deputy Commander of the Leningrad Military District for Logistics Support, on the grounds of a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (accepting a bribe on an especially large scale).

According to the investigation, while previously holding the position of Head of the Resource Support Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and being responsible for the material supply of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Muminjanov facilitated the conclusion of contracts with commercial organizations for the supply of uniforms in the interests of the Ministry of Defense, including for the areas of the Special Military Operation (SMO), amounting to over 1.5 billion rubles. For providing this assistance, he received a bribe in an especially large amount, totaling more than 20 million rubles.

During the investigative actions, it has been established that Muminjanov and his family members own numerous real estate properties in Moscow and Voronezh worth more than 120 million rubles, the legality of which is currently being verified.

At present, Muminjanov has been detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided.
