A meeting between investigators of the General Investigative Office and the authorized representatives of Situation Center, set up to investigate crimes concerning the hijack of the ship Arctic Sea and its crew takes place in Helsinki (Finland)

Working meetings of investigators of the General Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the authorized representatives of the joint investigation team of Situation Centre, established with the participation of law enforcement agencies of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden and Malta for a criminal investigation concerning the 24 July, 2009 hijack of the vessel Arctic Sea and kidnapping of its crew took place from 7 to 9 October 2009 in Helsinki (Republic of Finland).

During the meetings, the parties exchanged the information received during the investigation. The parties agreed on areas for further investigation, common goals and determined the necessary investigation actions that would be conducted in parallel by each of the parties to establish all the circumstances of the crime, including the motives and possible accomplices of the perpetrators of the Arctic Sea hijack.
