The Investigative Committee holds a working meeting between Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, and Mr. Mikko Paatero, the National Police Commissar of the Republic of Finland

March 9, 2010 the Investigative Committee held a working meeting between Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, and Mr. Mikko Paatero, the National Police Commissar of Finland.

The meeting was attended by the investigators of the General Investigative Office, administration of International Legal Cooperation Office and representatives of the Finnish police.

The meeting discussed the results of the Program for International Legal Cooperation between the Investigative Committee and the Police of Finland for 2009 - 2010 years, which was signed in Helsinki on January 15, 2009. The sides also signed an agreement on cooperation between the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Finland.

 In addition the results of cooperation in the investigation into a number of criminal cases, namely on hijack the vessel Arctic Sea, on charges against Elizabeth Ellen von Messing and Dmitry Abramkin for laundering criminal funds, as well as the criminal case against Paavo Salonen, who is charged with kidnapping from his Russian wife their son in Russia and his illegal transportation to Finland were discussed during the meeting.

 After the meeting, Alexander Bastrykin awarded Mikko Paatero with the Medal of the Investigative Committee "For assistance". In his turn, Mikko Paatero awarded the Chairman of the Investigative Committee with the Gold Medal of the Finnish Police.
