Searches carried out within the framework of the criminal case on embezzlement of Russian humanitarian aid provided to Transdniestrian Moldavian Republic

General Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee continues investigation into the criminal case against Transdniestrian Republican Bank Deputy CEO Oleg Brizitsky, former banker Oleg Smirnov and other unknown persons suspected of stealing of Russian humanitarian aid provided to Transdniestrian Moldavian Republic.

Within the framework of the criminal case in order to find objects and documents relevant to the case the investigation has searched possible residences of the suspect Oleg Smirnov and Transdniestrian Republican Bank President Oksana Ionova who according to the investigation may be involved in the crime. The detectives searched the cottage in an elite compound Pavlovo in the Istra district of Moscow region, in Moscow apartments on Akademik Bakulev and Tsyuryup streets. All this expensive property is owned by Oleg Smirnov. The search was also carried out at apartment on Shmirovsky proyezd owned by O. Ionova. Objects and document relevant for the case were seized in the course of the searches.

Currently, investigative actions are under way to determine all circumstances of the crime. The investigation is continued.
