Investigative bodies of the RF Investigative Committee in Tatarstan Republic have launched a new criminal case against former employees of the police department “Dalny” of the Interior Ministry of Tatarstan suspected of wrongdoings under paragraphs “a, c” of part 3 of article 286 of RF Criminal Code (exceeding official powers with the use of violence and with the infliction of grave consequences).

The version of the investigations stands that on 14 February 2008, a 67-year old man was brought to the “Dalny” police department for alleged administrative offence. There he suffered violence from unknown policemen. The same night the man’s relatives took him from the police department and delivered to the Republican clinical hospital where medics registered bruises to eyes and temples and an injury to brain.

At present, investigative actions and searches are undertaken to establish all circumstances of the accident. The investigation is underway.
