Progress of investigation into mass riots and resistance to police on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow

Investigative bodies of the Russian investigative Committee for Moscow city continue investigation into criminal case opened on 6 May 2012 over the appeals for mass riots heard during a public event on Bolotnaya Ploshchad and signs of crimes under part 3 of article 212 (mass riots) and part 1 of article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code (use of violence against a representative of the authority).

At this point, the investigators have interrogated more than 300 policemen guarding the place at the time, the records of surveillance cameras registered the wrongdoings have been withdrawn, the accident scene has been carefully examined with the use of forensic equipment. It has been established that more than 30 policemen were injured as a result of resistance put up by people during a public event.

In the near future Sergey Udaltsov and Alexey Navalny, arrested for administrative offence, will be brought for interrogation at the Central Investigative Department of the Russian investigative Committee for Moscow city.
