Russian investigators flew to Indonesia to present at investigative actions at SuperJet-100 crash site

Chairman of the Investigative Committee in accordance with article 453 of the procedural criminal code of the Russian Federation sent a request in the Ministry of Justice in Indonesia asking a legal assistance in investigation of the Russian SuperJet-100 plane crash, carried out by the Central Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee.

In the framework of this case one part of the group of Russian investigators has already left for Jakarta, where they are going to be present at investigative operations by Indonesian law enforcement bodies. The second group of investigators will fly to Indonesia on 12 May 2012.

It should be noted that investigative operations will be undertaken not only at the crash scene, but in the Russian Federation as well. Namely, the technical service staff who prepared the aircraft for the flight and representatives of the company “Grazhdanskiye samolyoty Sukhogo” involved in creation of the jet and preparing it for the use will be questioned.
