Last night during a special operation conducted by the police field officers of the Chief Department of Internal Affairs in Krasnodar territory, was arrested one of the accomplices of 12 people’s murder in the village Kushchevskaya - Igor Chernykh, born in 1965, nicknamed "Cupid", had previous convictions.

The investigation considers Chernykh as one of the cruelest accomplices of 12 people’s murder in the village Kushchevskaya. Therefore, his name and the fact of his involvement in this cruel crime had not been previously disclosed in the interests of the investigation. The investigation directed to the court a request to apply against Chernykh restraint in the form of detention.

At the moment it's already the ninth suspect detained in connection with this criminal case. Currently, all suspects are being under active investigation activities aimed at establishment of all the circumstances of the crime and securing evidence linking the suspects to this crime. In addition, active search for other two suspects Vladimir Alexeev and Vyacheslav Ryabtseva is carried out by both Interpol and the Russian Federation.

Also, to find out reasons and circumstances that contributed to this cruel and cynical crime, the Investigative Committee continues to carry out a full inspection of complaints by citizens and materials received by the Investigation Committee in respect of law enforcement by officials in Kushchevskaya region. Thus, investigators of Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory through materials operatively-search activity of FSB of Russia initiated a criminal case against Alexander Hodycha, the director of the Kushchevskaya unit of the Center for struggle against extremism of the Chief department of Internal Affairs in the Krasnodar Territory, suspected of abuse of powers (part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code).

Investigative and operational activities in respect of Hodycha had been planned and carried out long before the appearance of media reports on this case. Unfortunately, media reports ruined a series of actions against a suspect, and also allowed Hodycha to escape. As a result of well-planned and carried out investigation and search operations Hodycha was arrested. The police had to search him. He is currently detained and investigators are conducting the first interrogations of the suspect. The investigators are also searching home and office of the police officer.
