On the course of a criminal investigation into the terrorist attacks at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury subway stations on Sokolniki line of Moscow Subway

The General Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to investigate 29 March 2010 terrorist attacks of suicide bombers at "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury" stations on Sokolniki line of Moscow Subway.

To date, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia have identified all the direct executors and organizers of these terrorist attacks. Organizer of the attacks at the Moscow Subway stations was Magomedali Vagabov, one of the leaders of subversive and terrorist underground group operating on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan. Vagabov as the other accomplices of the crime - Aliyev Schaschaev, Magomednabiev, Rabadanov and Isagadzhiev put up armed resistance during arrest and were killed.

In addition, the bomber has also been identified – it is a 22-year-old native of Dagestan Gusen Magomedov. According to investigators, he accompanied the women suicide bombers Sharipova and Abdullayeva from the town of Kizlyar to Moscow and ordered them on the day of the attacks. The investigators decided to charge him with a terrorist attack. Due to the fact that Magomedov has escaped, the court at the request of an investigator has decided in absentia to take him into custody; he was put on international wanted list.

In just the past year since the terrorist attacks the investigators of the Investigative Committee together with the field officers of the FSB and the Russian MOI have made a lot of work: more than 500 witnesses have been interrogated, 322 different forensic examinations have been carried out, including explosion-technical, chemical, technical, and others. Also more than 40 searches have been conducted. The volume of this case’s files now amounts to 110 volumes. 168 people have been recognized as victims in this criminal case. Criminal investigation continues.
