Pre-investigation check into Mi-8 helicopter crash landing in Sakha Republic near the river Baraya

On 12 November 2011, at 13:49 local time, in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic near the river Baraya, 326 km north from Yakutsk, a helicopter Mi-8 of “Polyarnye avialinii” airline crash landed on its way to Kildyamtsy village. East-Siberian Transport Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee is carrying out a pre-investigation check into the accident.

According to preliminary data, the helicopter crew decided to make emergency landing due to fire alarm go-off. There were three crew members and seven passengers on board. Nobody was hurt during the landing and the helicopter was undamaged. A procedure decision will be taken on the results of the check.
