Head of Investigative Committee sent a commission to Military Investigation Department for Ulan-Ude garrison where investigator-criminologist was killed

Investigative Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Buryat Republic started a criminal case into disappearance of an investigator-criminologist of the Military Investigation Department for Ulan-Ude garrison of the RF Investigative Committee for Eastern military district Yevgeny Borkin. Borkin’s wife filed an appeal to find her missing husband on 2 May.

During the investigation, Borkin’s colleague, an investigator-criminologist of the same department Bair Tsyrempilov was detained as a suspect. He admitted that he had murdered Borkin by inflicting no less than 6 knife wounds on 30 April 4 km away from Ulan-Ude.

The investigators are inquiring into the motives of the crime. According to preliminary information the murder was committed during joint drinking alcoholic drinks and motivated by personal dislike.

The investigation will find out all circumstances, causes and circumstances of the crime.

Tsyrempilov was detained and the investigators will request the court to take him into custody.

The leadership of the Investigative Committee this crime is viewed as outrageous negligence and violation of law and universal principles by a person whose job was to protect people and state against offences. The fact of murder indicates the unhealthy environment in the military investigation department where the investigators worked. Therefore, Chairman of the Investigative Committee ordered his Deputy – head of the Main Military Investigation Department Alexander Sorochkin urgently to send to the military investigation department for Ulan-Ude garrison a commission to carry out a complex check into the work if the said department, to study the morale of the stuff, and assess a workload for each of employees. Strict stuff decisions will be made upon the results of the check.
