One member of gang involved in explosion on Vladikavkaz market sentenced to 24 years in prison in Republic of North Ossetia-Alania

The court has recognized the evidence collected by the North Caucasian Central Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict Ali Daurbekov. He is found guilty of the crimes under part 1 of article 210, part 1 article 209, paragraph “b” of part of article 205, paragraphs “a”, “f”, “h”, “i” of part 2 of article 105, article 317, part 3 of article 30, part 2 of article 167, part 1 of article 226, part 3 of article 222, part 3 of article 223 of the Russian Criminal Code (act of terrorism, banditry, participation in illegal armed group, encroachment on the life of an officer of a law-enforcement agency, willful destruction or damage of property and encroachment on it, stealing or extortion of weapons, illegal acquisition and manufacture of weapons).

According to a version by investigators, in February 2008, Daurbekov willfully joined the criminal community “Vilayat Galgayche” and its subdivision – stable organized armed group, and in August 2010 was one of the leaders of the group, members of which were involved in 2010 terrorist attack on the central market in Vladikavkaz in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. In addition Daurbekov together with other gang members was involved in encroachment on the life of an officer of a law-enforcement agency, illegal acquisition of weapons and ammunition in Ingushetia and North Ossetia-Alania.

The court has sentenced Daurbekov to 24 years of imprisonment with first 6 years in prison, and the rest - in high security facility with further limitation of freedom for 2 years.
