On instructions of Alexander Bastrykin criminal case of car accident involving son of Adygea traffic police department head transferred to North Caucasian Federal District Central Investigation Department

On instructions of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee the criminal case of car accident involving son of Adygea Republic traffic police department has been transferred for further investigation to North Caucasian Federal District Central Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee.

As it was reported earlier, on 7 May 2012, a car accident happened in Maykop involving drivers Dmitry Alyokhin and Askhad Chinazirov, the son of Adygea Republic traffic police department head. Dmitry Alyokhin and 16-year old Yaroslav Sakerin, who also was in the car, died of the injuries. The Police investigation bodies opened a criminal case over a crime under part 5 of article 264 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of the rules for traffic safety and operation of transport vehicles entailing by negligence death of two or more people).

Considering the public reaction and to ensure objective investigation, the Investigative Committee decided to withdraw the case from the police investigation bodies.

At present, investigative actions are being carried out to establish all circumstances of the accident. A special investigation groups has been set up, the expert examinations have been arranged and the witnesses are being questioned. The investigation will check all possible versions of the accident. The investigation is to be continued.
