On Alexander Bastrykin’s orders criminal case of Gamzatovs’ murder sent to further investigation to Central Investigative Department for North Caucasus Federal district


Because of appeals from local people, Alexander Bastrykin has ordered to pass the criminal case over the murder of Gamzatov brothers and Magomed Omarov in the Republic of Dagestan to be further investigated by the Central Investigative Department for North Caucasus Federal district.

At present a large number of investigation operations have been carried out. About 40 witnesses have been identified and interrogated, 12 examinations have been carried out, all necessary forensic enquiries have been appointed. Zairkhan Magomedaliev, Shamil Magovedov, Yusup Sharipov and Zalimkhan Magomedaliev have been charged with crimes under paragraphs “a, g” of part 2 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal acquisition and store of firearms). The sixth accomplice – Magomedkhabib Magomedov – was apprehended on 27 May 2012, he soon will be brought to charges. Other investigation and search operations are underway to identify the persons involved on the crime.

The leadership of the Russian Investigative Committee controls the investigation.
